Summary: This is entirely unrelated to our work but I find it very interesting. They use twisted wooden constructions as a tail on a seed dropped from the air that screws the seed into the ground during rainy cycles. The impact is that aerial seeding sees more success and they can attach sensors or fertilizers such as fungi to the seed as it falls. Again, entirely unrelated to us but a fascinating utilization of very simple technology.
